For businesses where security is crucial, Access Control allows only authorised individuals or vehicles to enter, exit and gain contact to resources. Access Control is a powerful technology that can enhance the overall effectiveness of a security solution. The real benefit lies in the ability to integrate it with other systems - Access Control is often combined with CCTV Systems or intercoms and gate automation to identify and facilitate the movement of people or vehicles. Both Access Cards and Biometrics can be used to control the movement of people and vehicles into or out of an area or building. See below for GM Services Group's range of Access Control Solutions.

Access Cards and Proximity Readers
Being similar in size to a credit card, an access card, also known as a proximity card, can identify individuals and allow access and egress to a pre-defined area by simply scanning the access card in front of the proximity reader. The reader then analyses the data stored in the access cards and determines whether the user has authorised entry based on access level, date and/or time. The reader then stores the information and records the activity for future reference or reports. This type of system can monitor individuals' access, protect employees and provide full activity reports.
Networked Access Control Software
Access control software gives you full control over your system direct from your desk. Instructions given to the software are immediately updated at all the doors, add users, barring users and changing users access permissions are from the PC, quickly and easily. If your company has several buildings, access to all of them can still be controlled from one location across your existing network. Access permissions may be set individually or by department, making setting up different permissions for different groups of people quick and straightforward for example: Restricting some areas to a certain group of users or setting shift patterns for departments, and getting those permissions allocated instantly when a new user card is issued.
